its an ongoing question...
I have a 96 JDM B18C with a high idle. I changed out the IACV for a different one it helped a little bit but not much. It idles around 1500-2000rpms it does not bounce. When we installed the motor we did compression test everything came out good, changed all plugs and wires, and checked for leaks. I Since my motor is a 96 I do not have a FITV so i cant check that. I have turned my idle screw all the way to the right. I dont know what else to do...also if i unplug the IACV the idle goes down to where it should and teh check engine light comes on so that tells me that its good and i also cleaned it out. someone please help.
yeash bro thats me and yes the one on the far right i capped that off but thanks bro and im goign to pull my car in my shop this weekend and check everything over.
will do bro depends on what time i get off today i will tonight but my tonight is a little diff from you since i live in hawaii. but i sure will post what i find... also what you got done to your B18C just for my on "wonderance" ha
cool bro. Yeah i just got back into cars. was out of it for a long time then felt the urge again so got back into them. i just bought the car and got everything done to it like a month ago. i keep wanting to do more but im a cheap bastard ha. i dont want to do anymore bolt ons i want boost but i think the next step is to go ahead and get Hondata s300 since i already have the clutch flywheel radiator intake mani and lsd.

check the obvious.... i spend weeks with the same problem. my throttle body wasnt closed all the way, it was stuck. check your throttle plate and ensure it is 100% sealed up! an improper throttle cable adjustment can also add to that issue. 1500-2000 is a decent size vacuum leak, its not gonna be a pin hole or a slightly leaking IM gasket....

I had my car redline everytime I started it up after the swap I fixed the iacv then it went down th 35000rpm then after 2 weeks found out the throttle body was bent therefore allowing a major vacuum leak at the tb.
switched out the tb and the idle is fine

yeah im going to get up tom. and go check everything out. it runs super stong though just a little upset with the little high idle. i hope i can fix it. i just dont know what it would be because if i unplug the IACV it works and idles perfect so i dont think its a vac leak. but i also dont think it is the IACV because its not a jumpy idle so im lost kind of but ill try and figure it out.
