Default Changing from manual heater controls to electric?

As above,
My eg came with the manual heater controls, the one that pulls the wire to open the and close the flap on the pipe coming into the heater matrix,
I know the jap eg's have the electric heater controls but they have extra wires,
Has anyone done this conversion?
I was hoping it was just a case of getting part of the jap loom and plugging it into mine?

bump i want to see if anyone has done this before.

I know alot of the hot rod guys do this with servos but that would be much harder and more expensive

See if you can find a pinout and see if there are even pins for it in the US model.

well im hoping everything is plug and play,

There is an extra plug needed for the controls which i have the harnnes for so hopefully i can just pull out my old one and plug in the new one,

Id say there is a difference between the USDM and JDM wiring though?

Yeah plug n play is always good. haha. The wiring could be a little different. But when it comes to ECU's and EWH's they all work the same.

Only one way to find out really,

It looks fairly straight foreward from looking at it.

JDM EG controls are still manual, the only thing automatic is the fan coming on and off. When the fan is set to auto, it will work like the thermostat in your house. It will turn on and run until the temperature in the car reaches the temperature on the slider that you have manually selected.

Yes though, there is extra wiring and a control box too I believe.

No there is a big difference,

My controls at the moment are done by wire which opens and close the flap on the hose coming through the firewall of the car,
This determines how much hot water is let into the heater matrix,

The electric one i have gotten today has an electric motor which opens the flap,

Advantages beeing the electric one doesnt get stiff when the wire gets dirty etc, plus the manual will eventually break as it is harder to push than the electric one,

Im not beeing a lazy *** i just want to be able to control the hot and cold on my car as my temp control is broken on my car and i want it fixed.

Oh okay... wasn't aware of that.

Why don't you just install another manual one? It would last long enough to be worth not going through the hassle of wiring up the electric stuff.

Well i changed over the controls and heater core this morning,

Put the dash back in etc...

Turned the igntoin on, fan comes on but only stays on one setting, the temp controls dont seem to be moving the motor to adjust teh flap in the engine,

And when i take out the key the fan still stays on...
So i have to pull out the plug going into the fan,

So im going to get a fan from an eclectric setup to see if that solves the fan issue,

Not sure weather the motor is damaged in the one i got yesterday so i might try pick up another motor to try it.

Got the fan sorted out,
I needed a realy thay comes with the electric fan, then i had to change to a 3 pin socket in the fan it just screws off,

Not joy with the temo control though,
The motor isnt moving at all,

There are 5-6 wires going into it and im not getting 12v between any of them, just 4/5 on two of them.

So im working on that at the moment,
