Default Heater problem - troubleshooting techniques for an EG heater!

I just wanted to know what troubleshooting techniques to use to determine my heater problem. when i turn on the heater, air comes out but not hot even after i drove for half an hour. i thought it was the thermostat so i replaced and i checked the fan and it works. any ideas and tips on how to determine where the problems might be. thanks and any good ideas are welcome.

check your water valve. It is located on the firewall just above the VSS and below the fuel filter. Make sure that the arm on it moves when you slide the temp control from cold to hot. You should really get a helm.

possibly a plugged heater core. Pull both the hoses off the heater core and then try to spray water through one of the heater core outlets. if water comes out the other outlet the core is fine, if not then you could try to back flush the core several times. If it still doesnt work then most likely you will need a new heater core

just be like me. Throw the heatercore/motor blower/vents/heat/ac out to the trash. SAVE weight.
