ok to run turbo tuned/chipped ecu on stock motor?
i have a gsr motor that was turbo and tuned on crome with 450cc injectors, friend is finishing up putting car back to stock today with a different block, new piston rings/headgasket/seals etc.
is it ok to run the motor temporarily with the chipped ecu til i can get a stock one? or can i revert the ecu back to stock specs?
its an obd1 gsr p72 ecu chipped with crome.
sorry if stupid question.

Take the chip out and disconnect the J1 on the ECU. If IIRC, It should convert the ecu back to stock. If the Ecu is Jumped at J1 it'll read what the ecu is chipped as, if it's cut it'll read as a stock ecu.
Here is a link, hopefully it'll clear it up a little more.

you can prob revert the ecu bak to stock take the chip out and cut j1 and it should send the ecu back to stock but i wouldnt put that ecu on the stock motor cause it will prob make it run wayy too rich and foul out your plugs.
if you still have the 450 injectors on there I would use the turbo tune. The vacuum portion of the map should be fine and work with the 450s better than the stock map.
