What are your power goals?
What do you plan to use the car for?
What is your budget?
What engine/head setup?

There are a lot of questions to answer before picking a turbo setup. It isnt as random a process as many people think. Answer those questions and we'll go from there...

You still didn't answer the other questions:

What is your budget for the turbocharger? What flanged system do you already own? T3, T4? something else.?

Do you want to stay journal bearing cartridge or ball-bearing cartridge? (this does not necessarily mean it will "spool faster" for what you're looking for. And people do not account for the cost of the water lines that MUST be run)

Is this 400whp on Pump gas you're looking for, or race gas? That makes a BIG difference in the types used.

Other than "fun" is there any other purpose to the car?

Please be as specific as possible. Help Us.... Help you.

pump gas. I dont want a track car. As for the turbo im not sure on the flange that's what I wanted to know. What's best? I'm pretty much starting from scratch. All I can remember of the turbo was that it was an sc61. I got a budget of around 2-3 grand. I was hoping to get a complete setup with that amount.

For the displacement of hondas, T3 flanged is optimal. I budget of 2-3 grand for the WHOLE setup that is reliable and quality is ...... unrealistic. But for 400whp or so, you'll need a turbo that is capable of at least 61lbs/min or 58mm inducer or larger

Cool thanks. I'm not in a rush to get any parts but try to just really get an idea of what I need. Reliablity and quality is a must. What would you recommend? Ive seen crap loads of kits on here but wouldn't wanna jump the gun and get a bunch of crap. Thanks for your help!

is the block sleeved? that sc61 will definately be enough to get you 400 to the wheels

and i think you could piece together a turbo kit for 3000 if you shop around,

im running a garret t3 60 trim and its got a big hot side.i believe its a 89 a.r.we dyno it on pump gas and made 301 whp at 200 wtq.i ran 11.47 at 121 mph at sac raceway during spring jam in outlaw class.i say you should run a t3 70 trim with the same hot side and youll get 450 whp easily.
