Default Spring Maintenance-what should be done?

Hey, Ive been browsing this forum for a while now. Very chill place with knowledgeable members, I'd like some info. I have 2nd hand Honda Accord 2004 LX that I bought last September with 149000km. Ive been driving it non-stop through the winter, now with 160000km.

Ive noticed my responsiveness has gone down and fuel economy is starting to degrade. Ive changed the battery and done an oil change on it.

For a grand, what should I get to bring my car back up to par? I have a friend who can do the work for me ( he own's a turbo'd prelude, stang and some other fun project cars )

thanks

I'd start with the Trans Fluid, Brake Fluid, Engine & Cabin Air Filters, Plugs, and you might need an 02 sensor with that many miles...especially since you're seeing your mileage go down.

Thanks alot, I will grab those parts and have them installed this weekend. I'm also going to change the ignition wires while i'm at it.

Always, an oil and filter change in the spring and fall unless you drive over 7500 miles between that time period. If its been a year or two replace air filter and clean throttle body with spray in cleaner. At 160/K miles have the plugs been changed, if not they are over due. Check all fluids, and air in tires. Also, do not forget to replace the transmission fluid on an automatic. A good wash and thorough wax is also in order.

i kinda doubt thats why you're ABS light is on. that light is because something in the ABS system set a code. you need to take that to a shop that has an ABS code scanner and see what it is.

also, if you are going to change the wires, use the honda OEM ones. I have had too many people come in with wierd misfires and idle problems because the picked up the cheap autozone wires.

...skeeter...
