d16z6 zex cam start up timing.
I have a vitara z6 with eagle rods and a zex cam. it starts pretty hard.
i didn't know what you guys are using for timing setting to get it to start. It idles good and runs fine, just starts when i hold down the pedal.
are you just setting it to 16º btdc?
any adjustment to the timing through the engine management?
I'm going back to the tuner on sat. I just want to do some research first.
thanks guys.

What fuel management are you using? You should be able to trim the start up fuel, as 450 will allow more fuel and might temp flood the chambers causing a mild hard start. In my buddy case. He was using used DSM 450's and his car would have hard starts. It would have to crank over a few times before it started. He ran it like that for a few years until recently he finally through a CEL for fuel injectors. Took a stethoscope? And listened to every single one of this injectors. One of them ended up being bad. He threw in his stock injectors and started right up. Not saying this could be your issue, but something to look into.
