are you misfiring? This was happening to me the other day and the car was misfiring because of a broken wire on my OBD2-OBD1 Conversion harness. Try unplugging the IACV and starting the car. It should idle very low.

Is the CEL ON?

A bad IACV seems most likely.

Have you tried replacing the air filter or adjusting the idle screw on the throttle body?

i do have a cel but its for the second 02 sensor and knock sensor...but when i cleaned my iacv, i tested it with power and ground to the pins from the valve and it would click...wouldnt that tell me that its working...the air filter is new which i just bought and as far as the throttle screw, how do i adjust it...which way do i turn it too and how much..does the iacv have to be unplugged to set it..

the iacv doesnt have to be unplugged. You turn it clockwise for lower, counter clockwise for higher. You need a flat screwdriver to do this.

Well, the ECU could be causing the issue, the second O2 sensor could also be causing your problems. As far as the knock sensor goes, i find it hard to believe its failed, its a rock, like a crystal, there isn't much to fail there.
