Yes

also I am considering some salvage titled cars. Can a visual inspection be trusted for frame damage or does it need to be checked on some specialized equipment?

thanks

imagine a square box and then take it and damage that square box. you can try to make it a perfect square again, but it will never become a perfect square again. there is expensive equipment that some body shops have to check it with lasers and various other things, but they're extremely expensive.

do you recommend to completely stay away from salvage titles?

I figured it would cost a lot to check the frame but I also assumed that you could get salvage titles without necessarily damaging the frame. Does the title or carfax indicate what kind of damage occurred?

carfax should tell what type of accident or what resulted in the car having a salvaged title. i wouldn't mind a salvage title because of theft. however, carfax is never perfect. my car suffered 16,XXX worth of damage and was reported to the DMV and carfax says my car has never been in an accident.

This is a real tough subject to touch on. So many dif oppinions, so many good tips,so many things you could go with. But w/ salvage title cars is like a double edged sword. Your most likely better off not dealing w/ them. but once in a while you come across a salvaged car that would be a steal, but most of the time they just look like a deal but underneath is just a big accident waiting to happen. Luckily I came across one that I think in the end was a steal for me. 05 RSX S 10g's 30 miles. Almost immaculate, but it has minor flaws. ay it was salvaged, so far hasnt blown up on me lol jk. but anyways, leaving on the note, If your looking into a salvaged vehicle, Please check it all out, inside out, even to the nitty gritty, push every God damn button!!!!! Trust me, its better to find the flaws now rather later after youve invested your hard earned $$$ into it,youll save yourself the sleepless nights in the end!
