RPM gauge started jumping.
My spring break started this weekend so I was heading down to my parents house. I never had this problem before but while I was cursing around 84 mph at 4750 RPM I notice my RPM jump to 5000 a couple of time. I was like WTF so I tested the cluster by pressing the throttle to see the response. The mph gauge seems to be working properly but the RPM did have some difficulty in response. Anyway it went away after 10 min or so, and I thought it wasn’t anything major but after several min, it came back and this time it jumped between 5000-6000 RPM 3 times. The huge jump only occurs sometime but the minor 250 RPM jumps more often. I was wondering if my stock CRX HF cluster is giving up but it only has about 125K miles on it. Did anyone have a similar problem? Any information will be grateful.
It's probably more likly that your crank sensor is goin in your dizzy. I haven't seen a cluster go bad like that. Usually they'll just stop working all together.
What motor do you have stock HF?

The Ignition Control Module is located inside the distributor correct? I mean I got a brand new distributor when I swap to my B16 last year.
I for got to mention but the motor runs fine. Just the RPM gauge is tripping.
Check to see if the dizzy is tightened down. Yeah no ****, had a friend calling me stuck on the freeway complained the RPM was bouncing around right before the car stalled. I got there and the dizzy was sitting on the transmission. Makes you wonder sometimes.
switch out with an SI cluster and still did the same thing but the funny thing is that it only jumps (like 250-500 RPM) after 4000 RPM . Will borrow my friends distributor and see it that fix the problem.

yup, the distributor was causing the problem. I switch with my friends GSR Dizzy and it fixed the problem.
Also, I was trying to check the Ignition Module on my after market TD44U Distributor but I can't seem to take off the rotor. My friend told me that there is a screw that holds the rotor but this one doesn't have one.
