Oil Coller with or without Thermostat
Im doing an oil cooler install atm, not sure if the thermostat is necessary, extended warm up will be required without the stat on cool days i guess.
where would you find an oil thermostat? any one gotta link.

Definitely nessesary if you live where it gets cold.

If you drive in temperatures below 45*F I highly recommend a thermostat in your feed to your oil cooler. I ran a Mocal unit for a while and worked great, no issues. It was a part of the spin-on adapter on the block. They offer a T-stat and regular model.
The Mocal T-stat is ~10% open when it is "closed", so you still get circulation through the oil system. It would take me about 7-9 minutes of 'relaxed' driving to reach 180*F on the oil.

I swapped from a Mocal thermostat'd unit to a Canton without the thermostat. I ported it and partially block the oil cooler in the winter.
