TDC marks on crank pulley
so there are five, i think my timing belt jumped a tooth, rotor wasn't in same place as when i put it together the first time. (head gasket didn't seat.., but it was my fault) Anyways, pictures. Yes, picture is very fuzzy, it was dark and my camera didn't want to focus, but on #2 there are three marks, on #1 there are two marks, when i lined up the cam gear, rotor to #1 cyl the alignment sights were just before the three marks, like if there was a 4th it would be lined up. Anyways... so i'm confused.
92 civic ex, z6 head on a B8 block.. yeah, i don't know, it wasn't my doing.

The 3 marks close together:
Center mark: 16 degrees
The other are: + 2 degrees and -2 degrees.
You always let the motor run and set the distributor on the center mark.(16 degrees)
The other mark(is only 1 other, not 2) is TDC. You can check this simple. By removing a sparkplug on cil 1 or 4 and put a long screwdriver in it.... and you will see the rest

There are two there, i mean, i believe you, but look at the picture, see the two white dots? those are the two marks, so i'm guessing thats its in the middle of both of those. Anyways, thanks for clarifying distributor timing, but don't you have to jump a certain terminal?
well, i must have overlooked something in the manual, but in this thread, the B8 crank may be different... https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...2#post37911442
On that, i need to clarify, TDC was found by using a long extension down a spark plug whole, aligning rotor with #1 cylinder, and aligning marks on cam sprocket. Head went off because it wasn't starting because of a lot of things, and ultimately the head gasket didn't seat. So, after head is off, i noticed that the crank pulley wasn't lined up right. And i just answered my own question via the FSM, and it is the second mark on the pulley....
NEXT QUESTION, it was on cylinder 3, the intake valves were slightly open, or are, and i was under the impession that the exhuast valves should be slightly open at TDC on cylinders 2 and 3? or is everything normal?
(just for reference in case anyone comes across this thread)
