Does anyone have any pics of their open down pipes? I'm looking to route my DP to either side of the engine bay, but I'm not sure how long and where to point to keep exhaust from getting sucked in from the turbo or melting anything unde the car..i'm not looking to have it come out the bumper either.

 

most people have it come out the side of the bumper. you could just have a turn down under the car a little past the engine bay.

unhook your exhaust from the downpipe = open downpipe lol

as long as it passes by the oil pan u should be fine, at least for open dump tubes it is, maybe the same for dp

 

i think he means open wastegate dump? aka dump tube? just a thought.

 

 

Thanks for the pics, but it's a street car so I'd rather not have the DP come out the bumper due to local law enforcement...

 

If you are that worried, run a full exhaust.

A 3" mandrel bent exhaust with a straight through resonator & muffler won't hinder whp on sub 500whp cars as compared to an open dump.

 

I had a full 3 inch, sold it becasue of weight, going to have a cut out off the open down pipe, and stock exhaust.
