Default Speed sensor/ V-tec not working (GSR)

i have a b18c1 with the SI transmission in an EG (b18b1) but ive been having an issue with my speedometer not working and my v-tec not kick'n in, i have replaced the speed sensor, but now im kinda lost as were to look, i thought about tearing the harnesses apart and following the speedsensor wires to see if there is a bad connection or any grounding issues, if anyone has any insight please do tell!!! thanks

What harness/ecu are you using? if your using a ls one thats your problem lol.. im assuming this because both symtoms are from lack of vtec solinoin plug and the vss not working because its using a ls vss plug not compatable because of the difrent tranny hense thats why your speedo is not working or/ these two connections must be fixed so the ecu can work right/ fix this, you must run the correct ecu what ecu are you you using? you must give more detailed info on whats lately been done to the motor.

as for the CEL none are on but i think it is disconnected b/c my ex-installer, lol couldnt have it hooked up w/o being on, ecu its OBD1, but it should all be GSR except the 99 SI tranny i just plopped in there, (this problem was occuring with my GSR trannies as well)

i looked for the plug by my ecu i could not find, i believe that the previous owner did something with the wires.... i have check other speed sensor posts and i have traced the speed sensor wires and there are no nicks or any apparent issues. i took off the V-tec solenoid and the screen was as clean as a whistle... although there was a wiered event, i went to get my battery and alternator checked out at the auto store and after my alternator check i left and the speedometer jumped up kinda like the tack but then dropped to zero... my speedsensor is def. ok i tried putting a new one in and there was no change, i also have cleaned all of the connectors to the vss and the v-tec solenoid, since i cannot find the plug to get the CEL code im kinda lost.... if anyone has any more advice please do tell
