need input in what i can do
i have a 93 civic si and im wondering what i can do to get the most power out of my dollars that i spend, im not looking for a turbo right now because thats too expensive. but more along the lines of things i can do to makes it so it can lets say...beat an 03 mitsubishi eclipse gts?
Okay, a few problems here.
1. Power isn't cheap.
2. You're probably not going to make enough power to beat an Eclipse GTS if you're looking to not spend a lot of money and you don't want to go turbo.
3. Getting the "most power out of [your] dollars that [you] spend" would mean turbocharging it, as that is the best bang for your buck power option.
There is of course the option of nitrous, but that is not street legal in many states, and it eventually will cost as much as going turbo, since you'll have to pay ~$40 to fill up the bottle every time you run out. Turbo's just take in more air, which is free. You have to run higher octane fuel with turbo, but that only comes out to around $2.50 extra every time you fill up the gas tank.

alright. well i plan and eventually getting a turbo on it, just dont have the money right now, should in the summer though.
so from that which turbo's would be best? if im gonna turbo im not gonna waste my money on some cheap *** one

which one is best all depends on what your goals are
how much power do you want to make? are you going to want to make more than that eventually without having to get a bigger turbo? are you planning on keeping a/c or power steering?
and if you're gonna have money later and are going to turbo in the summer, don't worry about doing other major power mods now. The only thing I would do is exhaust and suspension until you do the turbo project.

i want as much power as i can get without having to replace all of the internals and destroying my engine, it only has about 50,000 on the motor so its pretty set. i already have the ac out, but power steering in. and yeah as much as i can get without having to upgrade
If that eclipse is stick, and the person knows how to drive, you need FI or alot of nitrous which would do nothing but ruin your engine. If you can get him on to a road course though you could even the playing field a lot, I owned an 03 eclipse GT and that thing was a boat

That's gonna be around 200-225WHP, as long as the engine is in good condition. For an extra precaution, ARP head studs are recommended to prevent head lift and thus a blown head gasket.
You might need a better clutch to put that power to the wheels.
You're probably going to want a small to medium sized turbo.
Also, you're going to need a tune. Without the tune, your engine will be about as safe as walking barefoot on a pile of razorblades.

thankfully the kid doesnt know what he's doing and has an auto, but im not sure if i can get him on a track. i have another person in an rsx and another in an older eclipse who keeps bragging about everything. just trying to shut them up really if you know what i mean
No I mean a tune as in get your fuel and timing maps altered by a tuner so that the engine is running properly and not leaning out and such. It is typically done on a dyno, but that isn't what the dyno does.
