2 Power Adder Rule Question
I know for SFWD and Turbo Street (whatever it is now) that you can only run two power adders. I checked the rules on SportFWD.com, but I couldn't find any place in them that defined what a power adder was. Do they still consider engine swaps as power adders? I'm probably going to be buying a nitrous kit at some point, and was wondering if I still had the (debatable) advantage of being able to run a turbo and nitrous.
I thought it was if you kept the same series of motor that was originally in the car ( Ie B series,d series etc etc) it didnt count as a power adder. but say if you swapped a K series into a 92 civic it did...
Maybe im high on crack,
Maybe im not..

NHRA - If your using Turbo and Nitrous your min. weight is 2500lbs.
NDRA- Engine swap, Turbo, Nitrous, Supercharger these are power adders and you can only have 2.

If you have a Honda and it has a B series in it, its not a swap, if it has a K thats a swap unless its had one from the factory. So a 94 hatch with a B18C5 is not considered a swap, if it has a K24 then its a swap.

you sure? The K-series is as much of a honda as the b-series though. I thought the car has to retain the motor it came stock with?

Thats what I thought too. I think you can run a B16 in a 96-00 body because of the Si, but not the B18.

ding ding ding ding - we have a winner
as i interpret the rules for NDRA
a 96-00 civic coupe is allowed a B series engine and not considered a power adder (any b series engine), as well as any 94-01 integra of course
a b series into a 92-95 civic = power adder
b series into 96-00 hatch = power adder
etc etc
but the real question is why do you need nitrous in the car at all to begin with? most people with experience with these cars and running them will tell you it doesn't really help with the power that can be made on turbo alone
