Fuel line advice

I wanted to get some advice/opinions on this. I'v posted this type of stuff on other forums but not really getting much help.
I'm Runnin new fuel lines in my hatch. Motors un-boosted for now, running an intake pump.
Eventually will be running an inline pump aswell as an intake pump and pushing high boost(when i can finally get all the parts).
I'm gona run -8AN(1/2") lines now and then when I boost it upgrade the injectors, and add the inline pump.
You guys think I should use stainless steel braided line from the pump to the engine bay, Or should I get hardline and bend my own lines and flare fittings onto em from the tank to the engine bay?
Iv been playin with different set-ups for awhile and can't seem to pick or get set on one specific set-up.
I also have another question, I know with the power i'm aiming for I need to run a -8AN feed. would it have any negative effect If I upgraded My return line to -8AN aswell?

It doesn't matter if you are running a steel braided line or hardin lines as long as it doesn't leak. If you ask me whatever gets the job done is good to me. When you do the hardin line just stop it a couple of feet before the fuel rail and run the braided line for the motor flex and the same on the return. And I am running -10 feed and -8 return so I think you would be more than fine with a -8 feed and return.

I was gona go steel braided the whole way but i heard nhra rules consider steel braided a soft line and not acceptable for the whole fuel system. I'm not gona run nhra, but if they don't accept it, it made me doubt using it, specially with the price of steel braided per foot. ya know?
you know a good place to get hard line that will hold up to the pressure of fuel injection. most the lines i find either don't say what they'r rated to handle, or are only usable with carbs and handle like 25psi.
and is thier any special way to cut steel braided with out damaging it? because id just be ordering a few feet of it and cutting it to what i need

stainless steel hard line,can be found at jegs/summit/on here by at least one of the sponsors, but its a pain to double flare unless you have done it a few times and know to deburr it and lube it before flaring it. Use the correct flaring tool for AN fittings. If you dont know what to do or how to do it, a machine shop should have the tools and be able to flare it for cheap.
Use masking tape for the braided line, wrap a piece around it where you want to cut it. use a hack saw with alot of teeth per inch or find yourself a cutoff wheel and airtool to just slice cleanly through it. Wear gloves, the braid has a tendency to make you bleed.

thank you, great info. guess i'm gona bite the bullet and shell out the money for the stainless line, seems the easiest to do. and is definitly the easiest to find.
