Default Removing whole ABS unit? anyone done this?

i was wondering if anyone has ever removed their abs unit before? i'm tired of seeing my abs lights come on everytime i drive and i hardly ever use it. so i'm thinking about taking the whole damn thing out. has anyone done this and will it affect my regular breaking system?

Why remove it? Trust me, sometimes it can SAVE your ***. I WISH my EG would have the ABS.

Hmmm, You are quite right. In fact a well designed ABS system is a real advantage in road racing as it does all the thinking for you. Its much harder (if not impossible) to lock the brakes up.

You mentioned that you wished your EG had ABS,... Well... I have a deal for you I installed the complete ABS system from a 4 door EX into my 92 SI and it worked perfectly. I had a little SUV incident and that car is no more. I kept everything though and now i'm building up a 93 CX. I'm putting a Type R ABS system in that car and have everything you would need to put ABS into you car. I have even sorted out all the wiring, 6 simple connections to the main chassis harness is all you have to do. Oh, and install the brake lines of course, Thats a real bitch.

If you're interested let me know.

P.S. to answer Shermans question, to remove the system you will have to replace the proportioning valve, the master cylinder, and most of the brake lines in the engine bay. Difficult but not impossible.

Mike
