ABS Kicks In When You Hit Bump???
My girl has a '99 Civic EX sedan, 5-speed, with ABS. When the car hits middle to large bumps or pot holes in the road with the front tires the ABS kicks in. You can hear the ABS module working?? How can I stop this from happening, (don't say don't hit bumps!). Is this common in 6th gens with ABS??? :x

If you're using the brakes, even lightly, when you encounter a dip in the road, it can trigger the ABS. As the tire reaches the edge of the hole, it becomes airborne for a fraction of a second. That is all the time it takes for it to lock up, or slow down significantly, causing the ABS system to activate and unlock it. Any car with ABS worth it's salt will do that.
The solution is to not care about it, it's normal, and thank god (Honda) you have a good Bosch ABS system. It doesn't hurt it, it's just doing it's job.

try that in an '02 wrx, damn abs kicks in if the wind blows too hard
just remember to lift your foot a bit and then reapply the brakes...or just let the abs think its special
