there is a whole sub forum with most of the answers you are looking for.
just looked up and saw an fmu. thats antiquated tech. i think for a few bucks more you can do better.
i just installed a kit my friend paid 500 for, the diaphram is ripped in the wastegate, + 235, turbo is wasted, passing oil, 250 for the rebuild, fernco couplings instead of silicone, 60, right there is 1000. it has a drag intercooler, it will work, not great but will work.
put a little time into looking to see whats out there.
just remember this:
cheap - reliable - fast
you only get to pick 2.
so in conclusion, yes you can boost the engine, and please read the fi forum.

i guess i go for cheap - reliable lol i just want to say its turboed lol and hear the BOV yah sorry i forgot about the fi forum as i have the 92-2000 forum booked marked.
Cheap and reliable are two things that never come hand in hand.
If you want a turbo just hear the BOV or say it's turbo'd, your intentions are wrong.
