Default what more do i need for my turbo kit????? boost virgin!!!

I know that i could have probably searched but there are little specific things that i would like to know.... Recently I traded my shell for some turbo parts.
Here is a list of stuff i HAVE:
Turbo
Manifold
Wastegate
blow off valve
intercooler
down pipe
boost, oil pressure, air/fuel guages
I KNOW I NEED/WANT
oil lines
FMU
intercooler piping
boost controler
turbo timer
What the hell else do i need......

i for got i also have 450 blue tops and i do have a walbro 180 or 185 i dont remember... do i need to upgrade to the 255?

Colder spark plugs..

Might want to consider an oil sandwich adaptor or firewall kit for the oil pressure sending unit and turbo feed line..

Different clutch? Is yours still OEM?

Motor mounts?

lol and no, oem fuel rail is MORE than adequate, fuel rails are like LCA's they are pretty much bling 99% of the time.

The list looks pretty good, if you plan to run an FMU you are going to need a map diffuser and a walbro 255HP fuel pump, make sure to get the 255hp and not the regular 255.

If you plan on boosting more than 7 psi you should forget about the FMU idea and run some sort of electronic EMS.

my goal is a fun daily driver that is still reliable... It will never be boosted over 7 psi.

yes i still have a stock clutch, but i wanted to replace that when the stock one goes out.

some one else said that the FMU = a blown motor, is that true? like i said i only wanna run 7 psi.

what about tunning? what is a reliable tunning program?

and what the hell are colder spark plugs?... i just never herd anyone put cold and spark plugs in the same sentence

Theres a good thread about colder spark plugs in the FAQ do some searching and you will figure out why you need colder plugs. Also you dont need a fuel rail I dont know what that other guy was smoking.

DITCH THE FMU! I know people say it works, but why use older inefficient technology? Just get a chipped ecu and use chrome, the program is free and you car will end up thanking you for it.

Other then that the list looks good, but then again it depends on the quality of your parts as well as the tune.

You need to be as complete with this list of parts you given as much as possible. Don't just say "turbo" state which one. Don't state "manifold", again, be specific.

Do you really know the difference b/w an FMU and actual computer tuned management system? If not, you need to state that as well. Too many people on here are spouting out parts needed, and not explaining why one is needed more than the other, when in many cases they are not necessary (i.e. the wideband and fuel rail).

First. Look through the FAQs. They give you more than you think. Read this first, go through your list. Be specific. power goals (psi doesn't mean anything), needs, what you plan to do now and in the future, as well as you BUDGET. If you're going by just "reliable", that means your pockets will need to deepen slightly.

can you run on a FMU, yes.. its it best, no. for a price of an FMU, you can spend it on a chipped ecu with a basemap.

Manifold- any .. if you want to keep a/s, get one that keeps a/c
Turbo- t3 turbo would do fine (no ebay turbo)
Intercooler- any one on ebay would be okay
Wastegate- i would go tial, turbosmart
Blow Off Valve- any pick on ebay
charge Piping (intercooler piping)- any pick on ebay
Downpipe- one thats fits your turbo exhaust side (5 bolt, 4 bolt, v-band)
missing link (you dont really need since youre running 7psi, stock map sensor holds up to 10 or 11)
255 Fuel Pump- walbor.. find one that a true walbor, there are some knock offs that you should NOT get.
Silicone Hoses & Clamps- any would do fine since its only 7psi
Oil Feed Line and retrune line- try FI in marketing. Fast turbo should have a oil line kit.
Necessary Vacuum Tee's- auto store
Silicone Vacuum Lines, and bolts and fasteners- auto store

turbo timer- any
gauges- oil press, wideband, boost

your stock injector should be fine running on 7psi only, but 450cc wouldnt hurt. As for spark plug wouldnt hurt either to get one step colder (heat temp on the plugs can hold).

reminder.. this is all for a basic kit that good for 7psi.

so far this would be a good start for ya. Anything else, try searching its your bestfriend and if nothing comes up, feel free to ask.

if i have a downpipe that is 3" and my exhaust is an apexi ws II full cat back 60 mm, would i have to replace my exhaust system?

not really, but you got to remember the turbo loves exhaust flow. so 3'' exhuast would help with hp gains. It just depends on your needs

The wideband is only needed for the tuner to use. If you plan to tune yourself (not recommended) then that is fine, but otherwise, there are more important guages to get. Such as boost, oil pressure, fuel pressure.

Make sure that your exhaust manifold and downpipe are from the same maker. that way you can ensure that they will fit properly together with your turbocharger placement.
