Hi guys, I'm redoing the interieur on my hatch and I wanted to remove the passenger airbag. I removed all the bolts on the underside of the airbag, but I can't remove the block off plate on top of the dash. Are there any tricks to do this? Any help is appreciated.

btw: car is a 97 civic

if all the bolts are out and its unpluged, just put a pry bar between the bottom of the airbag and the bar under it pry up till it pops out. how i did mine.

 

i read this in another post, but i cant find the dam thing. just remember it saying: "dont pry from the top, pry from the bottom after you remove the plug, and it will pop right out, in tact."

 

yes from the bottom, dont touch the top it takes some force.

 

but can you reach the bottem? it seems that the airbag itself is in the way? I'm sure to give it a try.

 

I would be scared to pry it open...lol

 

were is this plug located? i would like to simply just unhook my passenger side..

its in yellow loom follow it form the air bad to the yellow plug. and there is a metal plate under the airbag that you pry on.

 

You have to pry like a mother ****er, I pryed on mine with a screw driver and the **** broke. So pry hard!

i am also looking for some info on this subject, i just picked up a 94 del sol and it was in a fender bender, both air bags are deployed i know how to do the driver side but i cant figure the pass. side never done it, where are the screws located for the airbag? any info would be great and i as well am sorry for hijacking the post i just need to know lol

 

Take off the door to the glove compartment, and you can see the screws for the airbag.
