how to remove gauge needles?
I am trying to roll back the miles on my gauge cluster I am putting in. But to do this I need to take the gauge faces off. To get the gauge faces off I need to take the needle off. I do not know how to take the needle off.

Well either way once you do all this then guess what... Anyways to pull off the needles is easy just pull them straight off. If your hands are not strong enough pry it up with a flat head screwdriver. Also when you pull off the speedometer typically it will be off. So you might have to learn what speed you are going by looking at your RPM. As for your miles they make them so you can't just turn them back. It is illegal anyways, plus because of this they make it so when you turn it back or forward manually it breaks the odometer.
Easy route is to just take the gauge needles and faces off of the old cluster and put them on the new one. Also stop trying to break the law out in the open on the world wide web LOL...

I am not TRYING to break the law, I am just trying to make my car work correctly. If it illegal to roll the miles back then why wouldn't it be illegal to swap the gauges with lower miles?

Well I am just assuming that you live in America because if you do then yes it is against federal law to swap a cluster and to roll back miles. Sure people swap clusters all the time just don't get caught that way no problems will occur. The reason for swapping the faces is to keep origional mileage.

Actually it is not against the law to set the miles at whatever you want. It's against the law to sell a vehicle and represent it having only the miles displayed without informing the buyer it is not the original mileage.
An easy way to pop the needles off is to slide a fork under them and use the tines on either side to apply gentle even pressure.

You just answered your own question... Think about it the miles stay the same because you swapped faces and the cluster housing stays the same. The cluster housing is what the odometer is a part of not the gauge faces. You are wanting to swap to a whole diferent style of gauge cluster then this is no longer possible.

I didn't answer my own question. Even if it is the same gauges I am swapping in, why would I wanna swap the faces? If it is the same style gauges, then the faces would be the same, so there would be no point to swap.

Well exactly sorry I forgot to mention that is for when you selll it or get emisions. For that matter anytime you get the milage read. It will throw red flags and also your miles will not reflect actual mileage when sold. If you get even oil changes done or anything that records mileage then it is possible to be tracked by things like Carfax and people usually frown on a car that has a chopped up history. I am typing on my iPhone and don't feel like typing a lot that is why I didn't explain in depth before sorry....

I don't plan on having the mileage read anywhere though, besides, I am changing the mileage what it is on the car. So I don't really see an issue. is there any way to roll back the miles without breaking the gauges?

EDIT: Can I just use a drill with a square bit in it?

Well you could get JDM or EDM gauges that have different faces and/or needles then that would be why. For instance I took out my stock CRX cluster guts and put in some EDM guts to get that better look but I kept my stock mileage.
