Default ECU. help

i just bought a ecu chip for my car it does 10k rev and 4.8k on vtech
i got a b16a with a stock ecu.
what would i have to do to put it in the ecu.?
or just not do it and get a already aftermarketed chipped ecu?
please help.

yea.. do yourself a favor and throw that "chip" in the garbage. by installing it you'll very likely end up slower then before you started, and possibly risk blowing up your engine. if there isn't much done to your b16 it really wouldn't be worth getting your ecu chipped and tuned anyway. with basic i/h/e your stock computer is more than capable of compensating for. if you had upgraded cams or higher compression pistons then getting a tune on it is definately something you'll want to do. a generic chip is not going to cut it.

cause the one i got goes on your IAT.

I did not know the OBD0 PR3 ECU had some kind of auto tune.

was that supposed to be sarcasm? i never said it would be the equivalent of getting a tune but the stock fuel maps and injectors are perfectly capable of accommodating an intake and exhaust system.

to the op: stay away from the inline resistor for the iat. if you want to actually gain power you'll have to spend good money on some mods and have it properly tuned on a dyno. power isn't cheap.
