Short shifter question
My friend has a solo shifter installed on his 90 ls. The bottom of the shifter rubs the heatshield really bad making it hard to shift, has anyone else had this problem? I don't really want to take the shield off.....do other brands do the same thing? What should we do?

Are you sure that its rubbing the heat shield thats making it hard to shift? When I put a short shifter in my 92 LS, I had a similar problem. Where the bottom of the the shifter sits in the linkage, there are two tiny washers that go on each side. Forget to put these washers back in, or only pu tone of them in, and your shifter will not work. So make sure you have those two little washers in.
Check what gen3gsr said first. If it's really the heatshield you can trim it or remove it so it's not in the way. I just removed mine, haven't had a problem for almost 2 years now.
