after parking your car, do u

A) leave the car in neutral and put the e-brake up

or

B) put the car in first and apply the e-brake


cause i heard putting the car in gear when parked is better for the forks, is this true or false?

 

well being that im boostin, i leave it in neutral so that the timer will count down

 

if my memory serves me right this topic was recently a poll, so if you want way more opinions than will serve you any good pull it up with a search. I personally use the e-brake, or the e-brake + 1st if im on a big hill or something. I'm too forgetful to leave it in 1st, dont want to end up hitting a parked car because im an idiot

 

I use the e-brake to hold the weight of the car, then put it in first as added protection. I just dont like the weight of my car being held by the mounts. (Would just parking with the car in gear cause premature wear on the motor mounts???)

kill ignition
put on ebrake
let go of clutch

although sometimes i get into the car and only my ebrake is on
i either forget or i have gremlins in my car

 

if anything... puttin on the ebrake, then putting it into gear is the best way... doesnt matter if you hold the clutch down before shutting down the engine.

 

oh, i know, but usualy you have your foot on the clutch while parking so why press it twice (its a honda but its not invincible, dont over use things , you treat it nice it will treat you nice)

 

i leave it in first gear or second because to start the car you must push the clutch in. just make sure when you get your baby started to take it out of gear. it is safer to have both the e-brake and in gear. just habbit of how i learned to drive.
