swapped motor starts but now steady high revving idle
hey guys i just did a swap over the weekend on my 93 civic hatch w/ a 93 gsr b17. started up on the first try like i expected but i ran it for about 10min then shut it off since it had a steady rev past 3k from start up... no fluctuating idle like the all too well common problem everyone else has. i did check for vacuum leaks as was my first thought to check for leaks. forgot about the fitv at the time so didnt check it but it was still revved up even after it was warming up. now what i did forget to do after i ran it was to bleed to coolant system properly. im thinking i should start there since i figure i gotta get rid of the air pockets in the block first before i even mess w/ the tps, iacv, or fitv.... but ive never bled the coolant system before but what ive heard is that id have to bleed it off a port from the thermo housing.... is that true? and if so would i have to do this while cold or as the engine starts? ive even seen someone try to get rid of the extra air built up by just leaving the radiator cap off when starting and waiting for the coolant level to rise then close it off,.. does that work??? anybody that can help id appreciate....
