Weird problem with throttle/clutch?
I did a second gear pull in my car tonight and it seemed fine then all of a sudden the tach started to bounce off redline? I thought it might be my clutch slipping but i have never experienced a clutch slip like that? One moment i was at 5k next its bouncing off the points? Also my throttle is stiff now?
The tachometer signal comes from the ICM in the distributor. I mistakenly thought you were saying that the tach reading was jumping around independent of the engine speed. Sounds to me now like your throttle plate or cable is sticking. Cleaning the throttle body with carb cleaner may help.

Ok that might fix the stiff throttle but what about the car bouncing off limiter when i was in 2nd WOT? Could my clutch just be slipping really bad?

This is almost exectly was my car does at full boost.
There is no way my car would burn out in a 2nd gear pull is there? I only have 170whp.

Clutch slipping would be consistent correct?
Because this problem has only happened a few times and its been when i was full boost in a lower gear. I can pull 3rd 4th 5th gear full boost with no slip of the clutch?
