Re: Major Oil Leak
Reason I ask is because no 95 dx came stock with a 1.6L motor. the stock motor for a dx is a d15b7 which is a 1.5L.
does the car smoke blue when you cold start it or does it smoke when its warm and you rev it?

Re: Major Oil Leak
one cam or two?
black smoke is too much fuel. first suggestion is to change your fuel filter and air filter. pull your plugs and look at them one by one. plugs tell you what is going on within the cylinder.

Re: Major Oil Leak
i was asking about the cams to see how expensive itwould be to replace the motor if you had too. too much fuel happens with clogged fuel filters, wrong ecu, clogged injectors... and so on. i mean spark plugs. pull out your spark plugs and look at each of them. descirbe the color and texture for each plug. for reference, when looking at the motor from the front of the car, cylinder 1 is on the right and cylinder 4 is on the left. use those numbers to classify which plug looks like what.

Re: Major Oil Leak
ok update with the plug.
btw my spark plugs are pretty much brand new. been installed for about 7 months. and all 4 are in perfect condition.
and its been awhile since i replace my air filter and fuel filters. so i may probably need to do that anyways.

Re: Major Oil Leak
good plugs. and no blue smoke. means no need for a new motor. thats a good thing. your valve cover seal or distributor seal or oil pan seal is probably bad. easy fix. as for the black smoke, check to see what ecu your running. its in the passenger side footwell behind the carpet. go back to your engine and right below the valve cover, to the left of the header will be letters and numbers stamped onto a flat part of the motor. what do those numbers and letters read?

in this picture the engine code is directly to the left of the header and below the coolant hose. that little flat peice of metal.

this shows you where the ecu is.
