Hey everyone, I was just wondering as my 99 civ lx sedan is just over 130k what I should be looking to do at this point. Belts were done at 100k along with a new starter.
What should I do , or be on the look out for to keep her running to that 200k mark which Im praying she does!

 

if its not ****ed up...dont worry about it. if its running smooth and not burning oil then keep regular oil changes and keep drivin.

 

water pump oil pump termostat headgasket valve seals piston rings etc.

 

Basic tune up.

 

what if it is burning oil?
its not at this time but say it was to occur...whats the plan of action?

 

quite the cost Im sure to do all of that huh
that may be a bit extensive no?

 

I was thinking a thorough as* tuneup is right up its alley. All fluids etc etc...
Its running like a champ so I dont think "much" needs to be done like was posted above, but hey always better safe then sorry in most cases right!

 

you dont need all of that. usually they replace the water pump at 100k with the timing belt since its easier. to be honest, i usually replace the coolant, transmission fluid, distributor cap and rotor, get an alignment, and do a valve adjustment every 15k miles. i change my spark plugs every 3 oil changes. around 7500-9000 miles.

every 30-50k i replace the spark plug wires, fuel filter, vtec solenoid filter whatever else i can think of. the only reason for major work like stated above is if something is wrong, i.e. burning oil, overheating, blah blah blah.

 

new fluids (hell, just do all of them, might as well...) and a basic tune up.

 

thanks for all the replies guys, bunch of help. it seems its nothing out of the ordinary then what I thought I should do. Im probably just gonna have my guy do a heck of an extensive tune up for the peace of mind

take care of her and she will have no problem runing well past 200k.
