Default Radiator fan won't turn on...

My old fan fell apart and the motor went out, so I got a new one. Wired it up and it's not coming on now, the car overheats without it coming on. I also just put in new coolant and bleed it, but the fan never turned on while bleeding it. Ran the car for a good 20 minutes or more. It's a 01 base prelude. Where should I start?

Maybe thermostat is being a dick? Not telling the fan to turn on perhaps.

Once car is up to temperature can you check for voltage at the fan connector to see if there is any voltage applied? (dc voltage on meter)

Everything was perfectly fine until the fan went out. Dumb question I've never used a multimeter before, what do you need to set it to?

20V DC should be good.

Ok thanks.

I was doing some searching and found you can jump the fan switch that's on the thermostat housing and it should make the fan turn on. But this was in the Civic forum, is it the same for Preludes?

Is this the fan switch? This is the only connector I could see that's on the thermo housing

Jumped it...fan turns on. So that means it's the relay or the actual switch itself?

My brother sux at life.

Where did you jump it? The connector by the fan or a relay?

Jumped the fan switch, the one that's in the thermostat housing. Same as pictured above.

Did some more searching earlier, found it's the fan switch.

just to clarify your post...

you mean you jumped the connector to the fan switch and the fan came on, correct? this would indicate the fan switch is bad (may have taken an electrical spike when the fan died).
