Default Bleeding coolant-bleeder bolt

When you are bleeding the coolant using the bleeder bolt- do you loosen the bolt and run the car until there are no bubbles out of the bleeder bolt, with the rad cap on? Or loosen the bleeder bolt with the car off?

This is all the helms show

Car OFF. If the car is running with the bleeder loose, it will suck in air!

loosen bleeder bolt before filling rad.
fill rad.
close bleeder bolt when there is a steady stream (no small bubbles).
leave rad cap off and start car.
let car get up to full temp and refill rad as necessary.
turn car off and put rad cap on.

if checking for air in the coolant, loosen bleeder bolt until a steady stream comes out then close the bleeder bolt. remove the radiator cap then start and run the car until it is warm. shut off car and reinstall radiator cap.

No it won't, it will shoot coolant out from the pressure.

Not if its cold and the t-stat is closed. Rookie Honda techs do it all the time!
