Default Nippon racing CTR pistons

i have a jdm b16a a friend of mine was telling me that i need to change the rods if i use my nippon ctr pistons i just got is that true?

anyone know, he was saying that i was going to have to have my stock rods shaved< pistons are stand bore

If u plan on using stock b16 rods then get oem ctr pistons. if u plan on upgrading the rods, then use the after market ctr copies

You have to have the small bore end of the rod shaved like 3mm or something, I dont remember off hand. I put OEM CTR pistons in my B16a with the stock rods, and had to do so.

Its not that big of a deal.. Just bring the rods and pistons to a machine shop and tell the guy you need the smaller end of the rods shaved slightly to fit these pistons. You never know, maybe the Nippon CTR pistons have a larger gap for the rods?
