Yes. Y8 head on a Z6 block uses 1 Y8 headbolt and the rest are Z6 IIRC, so there must be a difference.

Yup, the '96-'00 D-series head bolts are shorter than the '88-'95 D-series head bolts. And with a different year head on a different year block ('88-'95 and '96-'00 respectively), you need 9 head bolts for the specific block and 1 for the specific head.

Edit: so you need 9 Y8 head bolts and 1 '88-'95 head bolt.
