What do you all think is the average life of toda Spec Bs? I have a friend in Japan and he was telling me theyre good to about 20-25k.

 

i believe your friend is mistaken.

cams should outlast the car.

its the life of the stock motor you should be more concerned about.

 

Had my spec B's for 57,000 miles already and no problems.

 

Are you using the Power Enterprise timing belt? How many timing belts have you gone through?

 

You can drive the car around like a normal car and have it last like a normal car.

 

religiously check the oil level, the lash, and timing belt ....your rocker arms will thanks you for it and your pocketbook will save $1000.

Have you all made any road trips with these cams?

 

I installed a new belt along with the Toda B's. So that's 57,000 miles with the B's and one stock belt. But that new Toda belt looks pretty tasty will pick one up next month.

 

Friend drove from here(NJ) to Myrtle Beach SC. & Back!! He had no problems.

 

drove mine from R&D in South Carolina back to NY...

 

drove from virginia to:

toronto 2 times
chicago 2 times
kentucky 2 times
NJ/NY many many times
and the 120-150 miles every day for work

 

I put 15k miles on Yack's old Toda B's. I don't recall how many miles he had put on them before I bought 'em.

They looked perfect when I received them. They looked perfect when I sold them

 

I couldn't do that commute daily!

 

But you'll drive to upstate NY for a dentist appt......<scratches head>

how is this possible?! I cant even get 300 miles at 65 mph
