shifter problem

sometimes the shifter in my 1999 civic ex pops out of second or doesnt stay in second after i shirft. any ideas? thanks

Sound like tranny issue not shifter

Its either caused by extreme play in the shifter and linkage (worn out/non existant bushings) causing the shift rod in the tranny to not go past the detent, or its an internal transmission problem.
