i just replaced the master cylinder on my prelude because i lost pressure in it Fri. i kinda diagnosed it by noticing that the slave was still actuating but it was engaging right at the floor. i found that the master cylinder was leaking a little into the cabin so i figured it was it. i am now finding that it is impossible to bleed it, the clutch slams to the floor and i am getting no fluid at the slave

Also, how are you bleeding it?
When I changed mine, I literally had to pump it for 5 minutes before I got pressure. On my 240SX, it took only a few pumps to bleed it.

bled it for about an hour. replaced the slave now with a brand new one too. i think i got a bad master cylinder. i guess i am going to go trade it in.
I you don't have the proper tools to bleed the system, it will take 2 people to bleed it properly. As a rule of thumb for me, I gravity bleed it then use a vacuum and after all that I still hand bleed it with a friend or co-worker assisting me. Haven't had any issues with any that

bench bled the new master cylinder today still no pressure. i think maybe the damper is bad but it isn't leaking what does everybody else think
everytime i push the pedal it slams to the floor and doesn't come back up on its own.

- hooked the long piece of clear tube line from the bleeder hole on the clutch slave cylinder to nipple on cover of the cup
- hook the small tube at the bottom end of the nipple on the cover of the cup
- fill the cup 1/4 - 1/2 of brake fluid
- attach cup to the cover and put it down on the ground
- Use your hand and slowly pump the clutch pedal
may take 10, 20 or so pumps, but keep pumping untill you see clear brake fluid come out in a stream.
