Post Can i use my old throttle cable for new swap?

well i am just about to do my b18c5 swap. i ordered the motor and it will be here on monday. i have everything i need for the swap except my last question is, i am switching from a d15 non vtec automatic and going to a b18c5 manual. i have the pedals and clutch line, but do i need to buy a new throttle cable. i read somewhere that the sizes are different from auto to manual. is this information correct? do i need to buy this or is the one on my 94 civic fine to use. thanks for your input.

The cables are different. So are the gas pedals. Use a manual gas pedal and an ITR throttle cable if you want everything to bolt up like stock, otherwise you will need to fab up a custom throttle cable bracket.

Thanks for the info. That would have sucked if I got that far in the install and couldn't finish. Thanks

When I put the gsr motor in my 97 ex i had the throttle cable for the gsr and the d16 neither one fit and we had to do some fabrication to get it to fit...i dont know why that was but I just wanted to let you know that so you wouldnt freak out if it happened with your's...good luck with the swap

password jdm sells brackets so that you can use civic throttle cable with the gsr and b16 motors and for the ls youll just have to buy a teg throttle cable either from b18a1 or b1.
