lude wont start
when i try to start the car it doesnt kick over it just kills the battery
recently i have taken the mounting bolts off the dizzy and moved it around i guess you would call it.
i changed my fuel filter
im pretty sure im getting fuel cause i loosen the banjo bolt on the fuel rail and it got soaked
i replaced the dizzy cap and rotor today
is there a certain way the rotor is supposed to be installed?
i tried to check for spark tonight i got none i dont know if i did it right
i took the wire off the the spark plug and put it to something metal and then i had someone crank the car i saw no spark
i also took the wire off the dizzy and put that to something metal also
i was confused so i tried both
still no spark
the car last started sunday night
if anyone has any input i would appreciate it

to check for spark i take out the spark plug connected to the wire an leave it on the valve cover then crank the motor... dont no how safe that is though. also stick a long screw driver in the wire an leave it on the valve cover that works to
that's what i usualy do also...just take a spark plug out with the wire and crank it to c if it's spark...if your getting spark there u should be fine...if your not getting spark to your spark plug the problem might also be with your main relay (known for going bad on ludes)

alright could it not be starting cause of a bad ground?
the batter terminal cables that mount to the motor and tranny are frayed
could this be limiting my voltage to the motor
my el lights dim when i turn something on all the time
yeah, thats probably it. Any bad grounds will give you problems. Ground is pretty much the return side to your battery in low voltage aplications.
The ground to your tranny is an important ground. Rerun the wire in a similar guage wire and see if this clears it up.
So your car is cranking though? just won't actually run/idle?
Most of the time to check for spark you'll have to stick something metal down the boot to touch the contact point in your spark plug wires. I would shove something down the hole, tape it in posistion to your boot to insure good contact. That metal object than you hold it away from your bock or anything considered ground and have a friend crank your car. Remove metal object, put boot back on spark plug. Repeat this step for all 4 cylinders and see if any or all have spark. ONly should crank it 3 times or so and you should see spark. Try doing it in a darker area so you can see the spark. Sometimes its hard to see in regular light.
