Default Power Door Conversion

Hey all,

I'm new to HT and I'm going to be purchasing a 2000 Taffeta White DX hatch on Wednesday!

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be keeping the manual windows/locks and am gathering parts for a power door conversion. I'm going to buy a floor harness from a 2000 SI and am wondering if that's the same from an EX. The seller listed it as a "cabin harness". I know it's not the dash harness and I'm assuming that this is the same as a floor harness? Any thoughts? I've listed the parts that I've gathered so far below. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

All parts listed below are from a 2000 SI...

Floor/cabin harness
Power window regulators
Door harnesses
Interior door panels + switches
20A fuses

I think this is most of the stuff needed for the power window conversion, does anyone know what else I need to buy for the power locks?

Thanks a lot, everyone! I plan to take a LOT of pictures as I go and will probably do a write up of my experience and all the problems I'm planning to run into lol.

I believe you need the relays also under the fuse box. It's been a while since I've done it, but I remember putting in a relay.

Yup, I just read about that while going through the DIY that was posted here...

Is it difficult to basically gut the entire back of the car to get the floor harness in place? What else do I need for the locks to work...?

I've been reading http://repo.jackmoves.com/v/erik/album106/album206/...

I guess I'd also need to purchase a set of door lock actuators as well lol. Anything else??

Also, I think I'm going to need the brain for the power locks... should this be on the floor harness? What does it look like?

the white one is the power door brain and keyless entry module
the black on is your cruise control brain.
they live in the space behind your kick panel near the hood release cable

The metal cover is for under the rear seat. It is the access pnel for the fuel pump inside the tank.

Hm.. I'm guessing my hatch should already have an access panel for the fuel pump.

If I were able to get the fobs for the donor car, would it be possible to get keyless entry working?

anything is possible. I would order the Honda service manual on cd. It is very informative. I have learned so much from mine. It only cost me 7.99 off ebay and it is 1254 pages. I printed them off and placed in a binder for the garage and I keep the cd handy for my laptop to look at when I am watchig the tube and thinking about my next project. You can also get a parts manual as well. Helped me a ton.

Does anyone know if you can use the floor harness from an automatic EX? It shouldn't matter as long as the car is 99-00 right?

you need power window relay and door lock brain, that goes behind driver door panel.

The white box in that picture is the power door brain... does that control the door locks as well or is the door lock brain a different part?

yes that controlls the door locks. it also has an antenna and controls for the keyless entry built in.

jason_v2 - the auto floor harness in theory is different since you have the wiring for the interlocks etc. your best bet is to just use the manual harness in manual car. if you really want to find out for sure, get your service manual or get on alldata and look at the pin outs for the 2 harnesses.

Pabs626 - the link to repo jack has plenty of pics and a nice how to in it

thanks a lot, confidence.

i've been reading through that link quite a bit just to make sure i have everything... i'm thinking about refinishing the interior panels while they're out of the car as well.
