GSR Internals..starting to hate my engine...
How do I know the engine in my car has stock internals besides having to open it up? I am pretty sick of the crap I have to deal with. I am thinking of just swapping the engine to a "used stock GSR" engine from another 95..
Pretty frustrated here. SMOG failing with a high NO%. I have no EGR and having to spend for a stock GSR intake, header, OEM CAT, O2 sensor just to see if the thing will pass? I either need a stright up mechanic that is familiar with this engine or swap it to make it legal.

the only way to see what parts you have in the engine are by looking at them. you should be able to see what kind of rods and pistons you have by pulling off the oil pan. you can look at the cams by pulling off the valve cover.
what was the specs of the motor suposed to be? try a tune up fresh oil change spark plugs ect.. and new air filter drive until the ecu resets its self make sure you have no check engine light and try smog again and if it dont try to get someone to smog it for $ and if you cant find someone you can sell the swap and buy a swap but you might still run into smog issues but you never know good luck.

I hope they didn't put "no EGR" as one of the reasons you didn't pass. Because GS-R's do not have an EGR system.
My NO% is over 2K.. that is unreal.Smog results say Iam a gross polluter. That is great.
Wat can I do? Plugs are clean. Recent oil change. I have gone back and forth from conventional to synthetic to synthetic blend.
I am not the mechanic my any mean but I am willing to try if I have the tools.
