Default quick wiring harness question

I'm swapping from a b7 to a z6, buying a p28 ECU soon, and engine is being delivered this weekend. anyways, correct me if i'm wrong, but can't i just use the same wiring harness and then wire in vtec myself? (three wires if i'm not mistaken, two to ECU one to ground)

Yes, its the way most people do it. Vtec, oil pressure (vtec,) knock and you may have to lengten a few wires.
