another vtec wiring question
OK peeps, I've got time and I need help. I'm wiring my vtec today. I know where everything goes. I know what pin goes in where on my ecu. I know what wire to ground on my solenoid.
I have no idea how to get my wires from my solenoid to the ecu. I know I need to go through fire wall to get them there but I dont know where to start. I saw this little round rubber grommet behind my battery. I pulled it and there was some foam behind it. Where to from there though?
I'm pretty handy but I've never dealt with a firewall before as this is my first DIY build.
If someone could post pics of how to get it through that would be freakin awesome and I may paypal you ten bucks lol

Re: another vtec wiring question
i think your incar harness has vtec wires already to the ecu.
that harness goes through the fire wall and end in a connector unther the hood.that connector is connected to the shocktower .and if you know what the vtec wire colours on the ecu are ,then u know the colours on the connectors.and if i'm right that pins are free on the engine harness side of the connector.
this is prewired in some cars, and if not.u can run wires through the firewall where u want.
if u want it nice and not seeing wires take your time and u find a good spot to run them through.and run them with the existing harness.
good luck

Oh I'm sorry I must apologized I should have been more specific on my car. 94 Civic LX EG8 oh yea lol. Vtec was pre-wired in the 92 egs only I believe.

That is correct. What u need to do is get a Clothes hanger(wire one) and tie the wires on it and pass it thru that hole by the battery, that u removed. Thats how i did it.

Sweet that was my thoughts but
on the other side of the whole there is something back there pretty hard behind the foam crap. Do I just punch through that or work around it if possible?

there's a grommet ont he cabin side of the firewall too? I'm coming from inside the engine bay. Also do I have to pull of my dash to finish this up?

Yeah there is a grommet on the engine bay and by the carpet by ecu. Its the same one. The ECU wires run thru there. So just remove both.
