87 dx to F.I. how hard???
how hard would it be to convert a 84-87 honda civic carb. to fuel injected?? wut parts would i need?? any links any1 has ever done it before??? help
ok ok how about if i get a dx strip the hell out of it i mean completely the get a 90-93 integra complete harness in there upgrade the fuel pump get some new fuel lines and im set?????????????????????
3 or 4 people for sure have done it. You need:
harness
fuel lines
fuel pump
Guage cluster
ECU
intake Manifold
Exhaust manifold
dizzy
a bunch of other crap.
I'll sell you the parts if you want to try though, $300 takes it all, harness, guage cluster (145 mph), ECU already removed, everything else still on car (you take the whole car, you pay shipping).

I've done this, and unless you're getting the parts for free, don't do it. It's a SERIOUS PITA involving lots of dashboard work.
You'll need to remove the dashboard completely from the car. You'll need to swap the fuel feed line from the tank to the firewall, as well as the fuel tank itself. To do this, you'll have to take the dash out, the drivers seat out, and the rear interior to get to the tank. You'll have to swap intake manifolds, ECUs, and do alot of engine and chassis wire harness hacking (and I mean TONS)... You basically have to take the whole car apart...
Either stick with carbs (why do you want to go FI anyway?), or sell it and buy an Si. Your best bet if you want to see just how involved this is, would be to buy the Helms manual for the car and compare wiring diagrams and go from there. Trust me when I say this is one swap you DO NOT want to do if you haven't been working on cars for years...

take off ur head and put teh ew3/4 head on ur dx block use the carbs ull like it a friend of mine in cali has it how does 12.9 sound with a few other goodies he may post in this thread but hes not online often
well the reason i wanna do this its cuz i wanna get a 84-87 hachy (yes i dont have it yet) and drop in a ls enine in it. around here there are alot of dx in really good condition going for no more than 500 bucks(straight body thats wut im lookin for) and ive seen lots of si for over 1500 in really poor condition. i wanna get the car and strip it completly anyways. yes i kow it might be time consumin but i have lots of time in my hands. im just lookin for opinons and see if it is really posible
Thought about trying to get a carb manifold made for an ls motor and go from there????
Seems like someone may make one?...might let you ditch a lot of the wiring issues involved in the swap.
I've never researched it, but an ls with dual side drafts in a first gen crx always seemed like it would make a fun project.

How difficult is it to change heads? will the ew3/4 head bolt onto a ew2 block? ( i am guessing the ew2 uses the same block as the ew1/3/4) i might look at the idea of rebuilding the stock engine becasue it has over 285000 km on it. if i do that would i benifit from changing heads and port maching everything while i have the topend apart?
