ok my cousin has a 92 4 door civic and here speedometer doesnt work all the time it seems like its pretty commen with these years 92-95 ive been thinking the cable that goes to the tranny for the speedometer isnt in all the way, anybody else have some ideas

check the plug behind the cluster and also the speed sensor.

 

yeah or try out another cluster that is in good working conditions from a friend or so. Then you will really know what going on.

 

Maybe you need a new vss if the plugs are ok, could be going bad.
