Direction of crank pulley washer cause rubbing?
When I put the oem pulley on my d16Z6 and started the car it makes a sound As if something is rubbing, is it a fact that if the washer behind the pulley isn't on the right way it will rub? I want to know before I pull of the pulley.
Curved toward the outside, so the edge doesn't chew into the timing belt.
On some models the outer 'washer' is built into the crank timing belt sprocket, and the separate washer goes on the inside, again curved away from the belt.

Remember, there is two washers, one behind the crank gear and one on the front. Each one the curve is away from the belt.
The two together act like a V to keep the belt "centered" on the gear.
If either washer is missing, the crank pulley may be able to reside closer to the timing belt cover and rub on the plastic cover.
