Are alarms truly helpful, and don't they cause electrical problems. Any advice is accepted and tell me any problems that you've had electrical wise after i nstallation.
If properly installed they wont cause electrical problems. They do work, but should not be your only line of defense. Especially since you live in brooklyn, you should also invest in a club with cover, autolock, and MOST importantly, a hoodlock and some cutoff switches

Also, make sure you get hood and trunk protection. The place i got mine included it with the alarm, but some places charge extra. It saved me from having my car stolen a while ago, since theives can usually figure a way to pop the hood from the outside and then cut the battery or siren. I also have a club and autolock now
Also you may want a backup battery/siren.. or if you want some really loud **** get an airhorn put on, it will blow theyre eardrums out.
Where can i find a hood lock?

they work to some extent but no theft deterrant is 100% effective... its best to layer your security and get a good installation... w/ an alarm, pager, inside and outside sirens, pulsed air horn output, hood, door and trunk pins, hood lock, battery back up, kill switches, club, autolock, proximity, impact, and tilt sensors it makes it harder to steal.. the more devices the better..
if installed correctly the alarm won't give you any problems.. I've had my alarm for well over 3 years and it has A LOT hooked up to it.. no problems at all..
you still gotta watch out for the pro's and the theives w/ tow trucks though...

one thing alot of people are forgetting that is a pretty good security is a CAR COVER -- that'll lower the chances of your car being a 'target' when theives are 'shopping' for cars to steal thru-out the night.

.I hade a customer have Parts taken from his car while it was Hidden under a car cover. Yes security systems do work...installation is 100% of the job. Talk with the shop manager/installer and explain to them what you want
rotect the car,its contents or both? and have layers of security...remember Time is the enemy of a thief...he wants to get in out and away as quickly as possible. Also use common sense when parking your car. Oh and if any of you have gear ( audio Video tires performance parts) talk to your insurance agent about a rider covering referbishments ( things added aftermarket) .It may cost you some bucks..but what is worse...losing gear that you worked, saved sacrificed for to get only to do it again?

The last time you heard an alarm go off, did you go to see what was up? No, you didn't, and neither did I. But I still have one. They make alot of noise, whether or not anyone gives a **** about this noise is a different story.

if i see some dude in it and tryin to steal it, then i'd call the authorities.
I DID have a lock on my acura car cover.. its beyond belief that people can make it into a 4 year university .. yet still stoop to the level of stealing someones car cover (cutting the cable) especially when it has my damn license plate etched on it... I also had my PIAA foglights and my sunroof visor.. yes that plastic tinted POS that sits by the sunroof... the lamest **** I had stolen while parked on a college campus was my metal air caps.. which if you had rims.. they would have come w/ them.. if you didn't have rims.. theres no point in having metal air caps w/ a rubber valve stem..
theives r just f*&kin stupid
