92 si swap or turbo????
hi im in need of some help i was wondering what would get me the best speed/dailey driver use??? my options are a B16 or B18 swap or a reg. turbo kit and how much both would cost.... all help would be appritiated thx
search, do research i cant tell you what you want or how much it would cost there are many different directions to go in when boosting but a stock block d probably wont be as reliable as just doing a swap....although d series fans will disagree
your best bet is to just learn about your car and your engine choice before you make that type of decision, before i even thought of swapping my motor i had learned enough to where i could rebuild the block if i wanted too

thank you i am saving up thats why im wondering costs i dont wana spend more than like 1500-2000 and i have all four disks and idk about the suspension.... but i have toyo proxies4 so it'll put the power to the ground alright
ok thank you do u think it would be cheaper to just buy a totaled integra than just a swap?? and everyones telling me i need a hydro tranny for my year of civic????? and also suspension wise do you have any idea of wat upgrades i'd need???
Can you find a wrecked Integra cheap? That would be a way to get everything you need, and stuff to sell for beer, I mean, project money. Or a B20B (Honda CRV) engine would be cheap, and make a lot of torque. You just need an Integra or Civic DOHC intake for it.
Yes, you need a hydro tranny. Well, technically you don't "need" it, but it's the best way since you would need a cable to hydro adapter and I've read that they are problematic.
Suspension wise, I'd suggest staying away from cheap drop springs. I have what I was told are Skunk2s, and THEY SUCK. The Ground Control spring and Koni Yellow shock combo is known to be good. A sway bar in the rear will reduce understear. Go with anything like an Integra Type R bar, and it's advisable to run a subframe brace like the one made by ASR. If you don't have holes in your lower control arms, you'll need aftermarket, or a cheaper option is to use Integra lower control arms. Fact, I got both trailing arms, LCAs, shocks, etc off a 91 teg for $50 at a junkyard. Beat that with aftermarket.

yeah just wait around, i know there's a shop here in oklahoma city thats got two complete swaps
1 98 ls 60k miles for 1500 that a complete eng, tranny, ecu, axles, ect...
2 94 ls 75k for 1200

BAD idea on the prelude B20, very tough to make power all motor, burns oil a lot, and very thin cylinder walls so that means less boost. this motor isnt supported in the aftermarket, most of the **** is all custom
b20 out of a crv or b18 ls motor would be the best bang for the buck. if ya plan on boost after go ls but if you want reliable go b20. Also through the b16 tranny in there as it is better geared for all motor. b16's are d16's with higher rev, waste of money unless you go jdm IMO Prelude b20's are garbage like SOHC 4dr. Turbo D would be fun while it lasts.....
