d16z6 into 2000 honda civic(illegal?)
blew my engine so now im doing a d16z6 swap in my 2000 civic so yeah i know that in most states are illegal to put and older engine in a newer car. but i was wondering if that was for wisconsin too? anyone out there knows if its a good idea to do that swap? and i dont think i ever heard anyone doing emission tests here. i would buy another obd2 sohc engine to replace it but those things around here are like 1000-up and d16z6's are only around 300-600. so does anyone that lives in Wisconsin know a place i can find out about older engines in newer car or anything?
in the state of cailfornia then YEA.. but who care.. as long as it pass smog then you should be fine, but put a z6 in a 00 civic will be a bitch as wiring the sensor... GL
I do know that in Wisconsin after you do a swap you have to get 'hobby' plates for it. Only Southeastern WI does emissions testing (because of the large populations of Milwaukee and Chicago).
