Default High speed steering problem

I have a 1994 Acura Integra RS. The steering is fine at low speeds (under 60-70) but once I reach higher speeds (70 and up), the steering gets wobbly like theres play in the steering wheel. It doesn't feel tight and stiff.. Feels really unsafe, especially on uneven roads...

The car is lowered 2 inches in the front and supposably 1.6 in the rear, but it seems like its also lowered 2 inches in the rear. Tokico blue shocks and RS*R Race Springs. The tires are 205 and the wheels are 15" Slips. The car does not have the stock adjustable camber. But I still got the alignment done. Anyone else have this problem?

Did you get a print out from the shop??? what were the aligned specs Toe? camber?

Were your wheels and tyres ballanced?

any binding when turning to the lock at low speed?

did your check for ripped bushings?

a few places to start

Check your tie rods, both inner and outer for play. Also check upper control arm ball joints, and lower ball joints. More than likely you have one or more joints that is worn out and is out of spec. A quick search will tell you how to check those things!

I had the same issue with my Integra, feeling very unsafe at high speed. I replaced all of these things at once, and it feels great now.

Front - Left - Camber: -2.1
Front - Right Camber: -2.2

Rear - Left - Camber: 1.7
Rear - Right - Camber: -2.5

I see weights on the wheels so I'm guessing they are balanced. The bushings in my rear left lower control arm are ****ed up, but not so much. Not sure what you mean by binding to the lock.

High speeds felt fine before I got the shocks, springs, wheels and tires all replaced.

first thing is make sure the wheels are balanced...don't assume that it has weights and is balanced. go get that done. if thats good run your hand over the tires to see if there are any flat spots and make sure they're completely round. if you feel the steering wheel shake at like low speeds (20-30mph) then u might have out of round tires.

if the wheels and tires check out then check your suspension like it was stated. check tie rod ends, upper and lower ball joints, and wheel bearings.

That is kind of an important fact to know...

My guess is that what you're feeling is the difference b/w stock camber and around -2* of it. My car feels a lot easier to steer than one at stock height...I've just always believed it to be an effect of the camber being so altered. If all your ball joints/ bushings are good, then that's pretty much all that's left. You should definitely replace your LCA bushings, as that could lead to making the problem worse. With a stiffer suspension, it's going to amplify things like that, which may be what you're feeling also.

With the wheel weights, you can't assume that just because it has the weights, it hasn't changed. Wheel balancing is primarily to offset tire abnormalities, although it can help with bent wheels/ curbing issues. You never know...either way, it's probably not causing the loose feeling, but may be causing any shaking in the wheel.
